Kim Jong Un urges officials to stop ‘bluffing’ and boost crop output

North Korean leader reiterated fight against corruption, non-socialist acts at ongoing meeting of local-level officials

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un scolded city and county officials for allegedly abusing power and accused them of being dishonest about the state of the country’s agriculture, state media reported on Friday.

In a speech during an ongoing “short course” for North Korean local party committee chief secretaries, Kim stated that their “primary task” is to “decisively increase agricultural production,” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. He added that the officials must quit the “deeply rooted habit of bluffing in the agricultural field,” KCNA stated.
