DPRK leader orders city and county leaders to improve the local economy and increase political discipline

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pressed city and county leaders to initiate “full-scale” regional economic development and improve political discipline in their offices, state media reported on Thursday.

The remarks came at the country’s first-ever “short course for chief secretaries of the city and county Party committees,” which began on Wednesday and will continue this week, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
