How Biden’s foreign policy and defense picks could affect North Korea

Biden recently picked Wendy Sherman, Kathleen Hicks, Victoria Nuland and Colin Kahl to join his team

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden is building out his foreign policy team, nominating several to key positions that will deal with North Korea issues in the coming months or years.

Washington and Pyongyang have suffered from a stall in diplomatic progress since Feb. 2019, when the Hanoi summit with North Korea ended in President Trump abruptly walking out. But now, with a new set of consultants and advisors in tow, Biden may take a different direction with the DPRK — and one that may be for the better, according to experts.
