The United States swore in Antony Blinken, a longtime foreign policy aide to Joe Biden and a vocal critic of Donald Trump’s North Korea policy, to the role of secretary of state on Tuesday.
“My career has come full circle. I started at theState Department in 1993, and, today, it's the honor of my life to lead the Department's women and men as the 71st Secretary of State,” Blinken tweeted on Tuesday evening. “Together, we will implementPresident Biden’s vision of a foreign policy that promotes America’s security, prosperity and values – and that delivers for the American people.”
