South Korea announced the country’s new nuclear envoy on Monday. The envoy will work as a counterpart to U.S. Secretary Deputy of State Stephen Biegun and will be in charge of diplomacy related to North Korean denuclearization.

Noh Kyu-duk, a top presidential Blue House official, will replace Lee Do-hoon as the special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, Seoul’s foreign ministry said.

Noh served as the secretary to the president for peace planning in the Office of National Security, and he also previously worked as the secretary for security strategy to President Moon Jae-in.
