He was executed for ties to North Korea and became a political martyr. But new evidence shakes up the story once again.

The last two U.S. presidential elections were no doubt tainted by controversy: President Trump was accused of colluding with Russia during the 2016 race, and now he’s repeatedly making unsubstantiated claims that the vote was rigged in 2020. 

But South Korea is also no stranger to scandals during presidential races, especially those involving collusion with state enemies.
