UN calls North Korea’s September border shooting ‘unlawful and arbitrary’

In a newly-released report, the U.N. urges both North and South Korea to divulge what they know about the case

The United Nations is condemning North Korea’s “unlawful and arbitrary” killing of a South Korean government worker and is urging Pyongyang to share more details about the case.

A new U.N. Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) report published on Thursday called out North Korea for the slaying of Lee Dae-jun, a South Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries worker who mysteriously ended up in DPRK waters on Sept. 22.
