Over 1,000 dwellings destroyed due to typhoon in North Korea, Kim Jong Un learns

More than 1,000 dwellings along the east coast of North Korea were destroyed by a typhoon last week, Kim Jong Un heard during an on-site visit to the area on Saturday — the latest development in a mounting series of challenges to afflict the DPRK.

Kim was touring the typhoon-stricken North and South Hamgyong provinces when he learned of the damage from a vice chairman of the Party Central Committee, the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Sept. 6.
