Kim Jong Un relieved by absence of major typhoon damage, inspection visit shows

Kim Jong Un also praises DPRK's crisis control system for showing signs of "remarkable improvement"

Kim Jong Un expressed relief that a typhoon which hit North Korea on Thursday had been smaller than anticipated and commended the DPRK's national crisis control system for its preparatory work, official state media showed on Friday.

Kim had been visiting part of South Hwanghae Province to inspect damage from Typhoon Bavi, also known as Typhoon 8 in North Korea, state outlet KCNA showed, after chairing a meeting earlier in the week to discuss preparations for its arrival.
