South Korea set to hold military drills on Thursday

Exercises originally planned for May 19, were rescheduled due to poor weather

South Korea’s Navy, Army and Air Force were on Thursday set to hold a round of military drills, just one day after Pyongyang failed to pick up multiple calls from the joint liaison office and simmering inter-Korean tensions.

The drills — which could potentially be seen as a provocation in Pyongyang — are scheduled to take place on the beaches of Uljin, around 205 miles southeast of Seoul, local media reported.
