South Korea’s unification minister tenders resignation

Minister Kim Yeon-chul says he takes "all responsibility" for a recent souring in inter-Korean relations

South Korea's unification minister has offered to resign, the Ministry of Unification (MOU) confirmed to NK News Wednesday afternoon.

In a statement to local press, Kim Yeon-chul -- who has served in the position since April 2019 -- said he was "taking all responsibility for the deterioration" of inter-Korean relations, which on Tuesday saw Pyongyang demolish an inter-Korean liaison office in the border city of Kaesong.
