Top South Korean nuclear envoy arrives in Washington to meet with Biegun

Allies expected to discuss next steps after Stockholm talks ended without a deal

South Korea’s top nuclear negotiator, Lee Do-hoon, landed in Washington on Monday for an expected series of meetings with senior U.S. officials about the status of talks with North Korea.

His arrival in the U.S. capital comes after Saturday’s round of negotiations between Washington and Pyongyang, held on an island near Stockholm, ended after 8.5 hours without a deal.
