The South Korean government will send 50,000 metric tons of rice to North Korea via international organizations "without delay," Minister of Unification Kim Yeon-chul announced on Wednesday.
The news comes a month after Seoul first confirmed that it would provide food assistance to Pyongyang, following U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to give a green light to the plans in a phone call with South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in.
