Trump administration seeking denuclearization agreement before any third summit

Need for working-level deal at odds with South Korea's preference for "top-down" approach

The Trump administration wants an agreement on North Korea denuclearization to be signed before any third U.S.-DPRK summit takes place, multiple informed sources confirmed to NK News on Monday.

Any such agreement would need to be worked out at working-levels, sources familiar with current administration thinking told NK News, an approach which, notably, clashes with South Korea's hopes that President Trump continue pursuing a "top-down" approach with Kim Jong Un.
