French civil servant with North Korea ties arrested on suspicion of espionage

A French official working in an administrative role in the country’s Senate was arrested Sunday in Paris on suspicion of spying for a foreign power, a source close to the suspect confirmed to NK News on Tuesday.

Benoît Quennedey, who works for the Administrative and Financial Affairs Division of the Senate’s Directorate of Architecture, Heritage, and Gardens, was arrested on Sunday by the French General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI).
