Amid increased sanctions, Air Koryo flights decreased by 22% in 2017: data

International destinations limited to Russia and China

The number of flights operated by North Korea's Air Koryo airline decreased by 22% in 2017 compared to the year before, NK Pro Aviation Tracker data showed, with the national airline running 837 flights in 2017 compared to 1075 in 2016.

2017's lower flight frequency was accompanied by a notable reduction in the number of destinations served: while the airline flew to 13 airports throughout 2016, the number of destinations dropped to only seven last year.
