Sanctions prevent Google from North Korea operations: Eric Schmidt

Alphabet Inc. chairman says DPRK would be less dangerous opponent if "better connected to the world"

Google is currently unable to take practical steps to improve access to information in North Korea, Alphabet Inc. chairman Eric Schmidt said at the Halifax International Security Forum on Saturday.

Responding to an NK News question about how Google might be able to practically increase information access in the North, the Alphabet Inc chairman said U.S. law would be an obstacle.
