Experts call for financial, human rights pressure on North Korea

Panelists agreed North Korea should be readded to list of state sponsors of terrorism

A congressional hearing involving four U.S. experts on possible new policy steps the U.S. can take to counter North Korea took place on Tuesday in Washington D.C., covering the North's nuclear program, the potential for expanding sanctions, and human rights.

The hearing, held by the House Foreign Affairs Committee, heard testimony from Dr. Victor Cha of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Dr. Sue Mi Terry of the Bower Group, Anthony Ruggiero of the Foundation for the Defence of Democracy (FDD) and Ambassador Robert Gallucci of Georgetown University.
