Male N.Korean tour guides sent to help with flood relief efforts

Redeployment comes amid tourism industry slowdown

Male tour guides from North Korea's primary state travel agency are being sent to help with flood rehabilitation efforts in the country's northeastern region, sources in the tourism industry told NK News on Monday.

The dispatch of Korea International Travel Company (KITC) staff to North Hamgyong province – where floods have affected thousands of people and destroyed hundreds of homes – comes following a similar redistribution of military construction workers from major Pyongyang projects to the northeast of the country in early September.
