U.S. pledges to break N.Korea’s information blockade

Notable increase in promoting the information access based on ground-level strategy, expert says

The U.S. Department of State on Tuesday publicly rolled out plans to break the North Korean government's tight grip on information in the country.

The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) requested that relevant organizations submit Statements of Interest (SOI) for government funding to help carry out three policy objectives, including fostering the free flow of information into, out of, and within the DPRK.
