North Korea offers military talks with Seoul

Notice highlights need for 'military trust,' planning for issues that could cause conflict

North Korea sent a notice to South Korea that it is willing to have inter-Korean military talks in late May or early June, a Pyongyang broadcaster reported on Saturday.

“To relieve the military tensions over the Korean Peninsula and establish trust between the two parties, we suggest having working-level contacts between late May to early June, in order to organize inter-Korean talks between military authorities,” read the notification, as reported by the Yonhap News Agency.
