Six years ago – seeking emerging opportunities for trade – China-based trader Mr. Whang (real name withheld for security reasons) and his business partner began researching ways to connect and conduct business with North Korea.

Their research inevitably led them to the well-known Sino-North Korea trading hubs of Dalian and Dandong, where they hoped to make the necessary connections to begin their venture.
