N.Korea appoints new army chief of staff

Ri Myong Su an older officer who was prominent during Kim Jong Il’s reign

North Korea has appointed Ri Myong Su as the new chief of the Korean People’s Army General Staff, state media revealed Sunday.

Pyongyang’s state-run Rodong Sinmun, in its Sunday edition, referred to Ri as chief of the Korean People’s Army General Staff (Joseoninmingun chongchangmojang) in reports on two military exercises attended by Kim Jong Un.
