A 63-year-old Korean-American man was recently evacuated from North Korea’s Rason Special Economic Zone after suffering a stroke there, NK News has learned. Leaving through the Tumangang-Khasan border crossing, the man – whose name medical sources did not divulge – continued to the Khasan Central Regional Hospital in the Russian port town of Slavyanka, where he was admitted to the hospital’s reanimation department in late October. Following four days in Slavyanka after the initial evacuation, the patient was transferred to Falck Medical on 20 October, a private clinic in Vladivostok whose specialized services include post-stroke rehabilitation.
