South Korea comments on Kim Jong Un’s new year address

Ministry of Unification says it takes a "progressive" stance to Kim's address, wants to discuss family reunions

The South Korean Ministry of Unification on Friday issued a statement on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s new year address, saying it takes a “progressive” attitude towards his calls for a high level summit.

On Thursday Kim dedicated a significant proportion of his speech to North-South relations, indicating that he would not be opposed to meeting South Korean President Park Geun Hye.
