North Korean electricity imports from China rose sharply through the first 11 months of 2014 when compared to their 2013 equivalents, official Chinese customs data shows.
While the overall numbers represent a small fraction of total DPRK energy use, the figures indicate more than a 100 percent increase in exports of electrical energy, rising from 15 million kilowatt hours (KWh) in the whole of 2013, to nearly 40 million in between January and November last year.
