A spokesperson for the North Korean Foreign Ministry was quoted by the Korean Central News Agency lambasting the United States for the new sanctions targeting the country’s arms and intelligence service.
The statement maintains the North’s innocence in the hacking of the Sony Pictures Entertainment over The Interview – the controversial film depicting the assassination of Kim Jong Un – an act that was the pretext for the new sanctions President Barack Obama announced through executive order at the end of last week.
