Russian Coal arrives in SK via North Korea

Coal delivered to South Korea as part of trilateral logistics project test run

A cargo vessel that left the North Korean port of Rajin delivered 40,500 tons of Russian coal to the South Korean port of Pohang on Saturday, completing the trial run of trilateral logistics project between the three countries.

The coal delivery - valued at around 4 million U.S. dollars – is part of President Park’s wider Eurasia Initiative, which could link South Korea to Europe and improve trade access to the peninsula via North Korea.
