North and South Korean warships have exchanged fire on Tuesday after a DPRK vessel crossed the disputed maritime border separating the two countries, according to a report from the Associated Press (AP).

The DPRK ship is reported to have crossed into South Korean waters for ten minutes before a ROK Navy vessel broadcast a warning and fired warning shots.  The North Korean vessel also fired into the water before retreating back across the maritime border.

Citing an anonymous South Korean defense official, AP reported that there were no injuries or damage to either as a result of the clash.
