‘Sincere’ North Korean concern for disabled questioned
Daily NK suggests recent efforts to help those with disabilities another effort at obtaining hard currency

The Daily NK sees North Korea’s concern for their disabled as “half-truth” propaganda used for to acquire foreign currency, despite recent announcements of greater investment into welfare for the disabled.

The pro-North General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) recently announced in the Chosun Sinbo that the North is constructing a Braille Information Technology Center, a publisher and university catering solely to the blind, along with a national facility connecting three schools for the blind in Pyongyang, Hannam and Hwangnam.
