Changing the way we approach North Korea: A new tool for engagement

Interview explores uses and benefits of "Engage DPRK" data visualization project

Is North Korea really the most isolated country in the world? While most people might think so, a new data visualization tool that showcases international engagement initiatives with North Korea suggests otherwise.

Engage DPRK is the first online tool specifically created to collect and coherently display nearly all available data on literally hundreds of engagement project and initiatives that the international community has carried out in North Korea since the outbreak of the famine in the mid-1990s. The importance and usefulness of such tool is evident, as the website groups together a very high number of sources and facts that were previously available, yet scattered over the Internet and, in some cases, quite hard to find.
