The U.N. Command (UNC) on Wednesday determined North Korea’s land mine that exploded on South Korea’s side of the western section of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on Sept. 21 violated the Armistice Agreement.

The UNC said in a statement that it conducted joint on-site investigations with the South Korean military and found an “active DPRK anti-personnel mine on the ROK side of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL),” the actual border separating the two Koreas.
