Several heavy trucks appeared to cross the long-stalled New Yalu River Bridge from China into North Korea on Sunday, marking what could be the first confirmed cargo traffic on the 12-year-old bridge as preparations for its opening gather pace.

According to video footage shot by a resident of the Chinese border city of Dandong, a truck with its cargo bed covered in dark fabric drove by the Dandong customs area to cross the bridge toward Sinuiju on the North Korean side.
