North Korean ‘trainees’ appear packaging Finnish-marketed pet food in Russia

Businessman at center of DPRK labor deals reveals DPRK workers handling Järvi Elämän animal food

Dozens of North Koreans appeared to work at a Moscow factory handling canned food for cats and dogs marketed as a Finnish brand, according to footage released by a businessman implicated in DPRK labor procurement schemes.

Multiple North Koreans underwent vocational training inside the facility in the Moscow region on a packaging line featuring boxes labeled as Järvi Elämän animal feed, a social media post by Russian entrepreneur Vladimir Sokolov showed in late July.

The purported DPRK nationals also appeared in footage and images stacking dozens of Järvi Elämän branded boxes and cans.
