Singapore’s top diplomat briefed his South Korean counterpart on Thursday about his recent visit to Pyongyang, agreeing to work to create conditions for dialogue with North Korea.

Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan held the meeting with Foreign Minister Cho Hyun in Seoul, concluding a weeklong trip that included stops in Beijing and Pyongyang, according to statements from both countries.

After arriving in Seoul, Balakrishnan briefed Cho on his trip to Pyongyang, South Korea’s foreign ministry said. The Singaporean official met North Korea’s foreign minister on Tuesday and discussed “regional and international issues,” according to DPRK state media.
