Two U.S. nationals were sentenced to prison on Wednesday for helping North Korean information technology workers pose as American employees at more than 100 U.S. companies, a yearslong scheme that generated over $5 million for Pyongyang’s weapons programs.

Kejia Wang, 42, received a nine-year sentence, while Zhenxing Wang, 39, was sentenced to 92 months in prison over their involvement in the operation that used the stolen identities of at least 80 Americans, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced in a press release Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton also ordered the two New Jersey residents to serve three years
