South Korea is set to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War this week with a major ceremony to commemorate the sacrifices and contributions of the U.N. coalition that came to its aid when North Korea invaded.

But while it’s well-known that the U.K., France and other Western allies of the U.S. sent troops to fight under the U.N. Command, a total of 21 countries across five continents contributed to the war efforts in some way, including one nation that had only recently gained its independence — India.
