A South Korean nongovernmental organization is under police investigation for allegedly misusing government funds earmarked for sending salt to North Korea, the latest in a series of inquiries into groups working on inter-Korean issues.

The Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation (KCRC) said in a press release earlier this month that it is cooperating with a police investigation into what happened to 500 million won ($390,000) that it received from South Jeolla Province for the project.
