A top North Korean government official has denounced the U.N. Security Council (UNSC) for criticizing the country’s recent missile test, accusing the council of a “double-dealing standard.” In a statement, Jo Chol Su, director of the DPRK foreign ministry’s Department of International Organizations, denied that the country’s launch of the Hwasong-8 hypersonic missile on Sept. 27 posed a threat to international peace and security. “The UNSC keeps mum about large-scale joint military exercises between the U.S. and its vassal forces and about their frequent attack weapon tests, but it faults the normal and planned self-defensive measures taken by the © Korea Risk Group.
