Court finds Choi Chan Han guilty of attempting to sell missiles, military equipment, among other sanctioned items

A court has sentenced a Sydney man to three and a half years in prison for brokering the sale of military equipment, coal and other sanctioned commodities by North Korea, according to Australian authorities.

The Supreme Court of New South Wales found that Choi Chan Han provided sanctioned services by brokering North Korea’s sale of Man-Portable Air Defense systems (MANPADs) small surface-to-air missiles inertial measurement units (IMUs), coal and pig iron, as well as the country’s purchase of Indonesian petroleum products.
