Biegun’s North Korean counterpart arrives in Beijing ahead of DPRK-U.S. summit

Several high-level officials from Pyongyang already reported to be in Hanoi for talks

DPRK Special Representative for U.S. Affairs of the State Affairs Commission (SAC) Kim Hyok Chol arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, multiple South Korean outlets reported, in a visit that comes just a week ahead of a planned North Korea-U.S. summit in Hanoi.

The North Korean delegation led by Kim— who serves as direct counterpart of U.S. Special Representative for North Korea at the State Department Stephen Biegun -- was spotted at Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport on Tuesday morning.
