South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Wednesday said the two Koreas must move beyond the “tentative peace” established in 2018, in a New Year’s speech in which he promised to usher in an era of economic prosperity and a permanent end to war on the peninsula.

Speaking at a New Year’s event held at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KBIZ), Moon admitted that more work was needed to secure a permanent peace with the North.
