South Korea’s intelligence services have detected movement suggesting North Korea is preparing for international inspections of its missile and nuclear test sites, a lawmaker said on Wednesday.

Following a closed-door meeting with National Intelligence Service (NIS) officials in Seoul, lawmaker Kim Min-ki of the ruling Democratic Party told assembled media the NIS has reportedly been “closely tracking” the DPRK’s nuclear and missile facilities.

“North Korea has dismantled Punggye-ri nuclear test ground and demolished the part of Tongchang-ri missile facility,” Kim, who also serves as administrative secretary of the National Assembly’s Intelligence Committee, said in a statement carried by Yonhap News Agency.
