South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) on Tuesday announced plans to create a new bureau on North Korea policy and a specialized division to deal with Pyongyang’s nuclear program as part of an organizational reshuffling.

President Moon Jae-in’s cabinet passed the bill to restructure the MND and affiliated organizations at a meeting Tuesday, the military said.

“As North Korean nuclear and missile threats become more sophisticated and realistic, the reshuffle focuses on creating an organizational system with expertise which can assume full charge of response policy at the level of the Ministry of National Defense,” the MND said in
