News Religious freedom in N. Korea remains “of concern” to U.S.: State DepartmentDPRK has been designated a "Country of Particular Concern" since 2001
North Korea will be designated as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) under the International Religious Freedom Act for the 17th consecutive year, according to the U.S. Department of State on Tuesday. In the State Department’s annual report on religious freedom, North Korea is accused of having “engaged in or tolerated particularly severe violations of religious freedom.” The release of the “2016 International Religious Freedom Annual Report” details the status of religious freedom in 199 countries and territories.
