Russia recently delivered 2400 tons of food aid to North Korea, the first half of a two part shipment, the Russian embassy in North Korea said on Monday.

The aid comprised of wheat flour and is under the banner of Russia’s contributions to the UN’s World Food Program (WFP).

The Russian Embassy posted photos of the Russian vessel arriving in Chongjin and unloading the flour on its Facebook page. According to the post, the ship has also been chartered for a second delivery of 2700 tons.
