Beijing warned Chinese companies on Friday to pay attention to new UN restrictions on North Korean coal, implying they could lose money if they continued business as usual.

China’s Ministry of Commerce posted the warning on its website, as part of its implementation notice for the most recent UN Resolution passed in late November.

“(Companies should) please pay close attention to the relevant pages of the 1718 Committee, to keep abreast of the United Nations on North Korea’s coal export notifications, ahead of time, (and make) reasonable arrangements for imports, to avoid unnecessary losses,” the notice reads.
