Six North Korean fishermen were found dead aboard a ship stranded off the North’s west coast in November during the 200-day mass mobilization campaign, state-run media outlet Rodong Sinmun reported Thursday.

The accident happened at 4PM Pyongyang Time (0730 GMT) on November 19 when boats working for a metal works were fishing in the coastal waters off Anseok-ri, South Phyongan Province.

An evacuation order was issued due to rough waters and strong winds, but the vice-captain of Fishing Boat 9124 radioed saying the ship struck a rock, warning other fishing boats to immediately move to a safe zone.
