News Photo confirms name change of Pyongyang multipurpose complexKim Jong Un changes name to erase traces of his purged uncle Jang Song Thaek, says defector
North Korea’s Haedanghwa Service Complex has been renamed the Ryugyong Service Complex, a picture obtained by NK News shows. The website of the Korea International Youth and Children’s Travel Company based in Pyongyang confirms this, listing the six-story building as the “Ryugyong Service Complex.” North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his officials to change the name of Haedanghwa into Ryugyung in a bid to erase traces of his purged uncle Jang Song Thaek’s businesses, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported on August 23. Kim is particularly opposed to facilities with names like “Haedanghwa” or “Daedonggang,” which are commonly used © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
