News Policy proposal to next S.Korean president against nuclear armed N.KoreaExperts: Park's trustpolitik has not worked, next leader must deal with tougher defense challenges
South Korea’s next president should specify policies on the North Korean issue in the face of the growing nuclear threats, experts said Thursday at Sejong Institute in Seongnam city. Primarily dealing with North Korea’s nuclear power, experts also emphasized North Korea’s conventional military capacity and provided strategic advice. “There’s nothing the next administration can do without solving the nuclear problem. The nuclear issue has absorbed every issue regarding inter-Korean relations,” Cheong Seong-chang, senior fellow of the Sejong Institute said at the forum. Cheong judged President Park Geun-hye’s trustpolitikas a failure, as proven by the fourth nuclear test in January. © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
